Dizona body: Frequently Asked Questions

Written by me (khisartin).

Q: Can I install this mod on Special Edition?

A: Test version for SSE: https://sharemods.com/ahg5p9lxsutu/0._Dizona_Body__MAIN_1.3_SSE.7z.html https://sharemods.com/w9bp77hrxqgi/1._DB__HighPoly_Dizona_Head_1.3_SSE.7z.html https://sharemods.com/8r0bvv5huswj/3._DB__Penis_Erection_Mesh_1.3_SSE.7z.html

It is no longer supported, however, so you can run in some bugs. By downloading from sharemods you support Dizona!

(sharemods gives a little money, ~ ice cream worth, for each 1,000 downloads)

Q: Character's body or face turns completely black at some point. What is it?

A: More often than not it's a VRAM usage problem. Try installing ENBoost (it's included in almost any ENB; if you have it installed already, make sure enblocal.ini has the right settings for you) or (if your PC is weak) try installing optimized textures, which helps you save 321,4 MB. If you have some heavy retexture installed, deleting it may help.

Q: What DizonaBody.esp does? Why morphs are conflicting?! Why Dizona Body has so much conflicts?! Why beastraces have so much bugs?

A: By default, only the malehead.nif file is replaced in DB: it contains shader settings and texture paths.

DB by default doesn't have files that are responsible for emotions and morphs, i.e. DB does not affect them.

Skyrim will use morphs you already have installed in your game. Morphs are present in HighPoly Dizona Head, through (because morphs should be high-poly too)

As for esp and esm files, both are same, the only difference is in their priority. These files change the following:

human Skin (just changes the paths to body textures),

texture set of Age40 (new normal maps for the "old" textures) and male woodelf,

gives beastraces NPS duplicates of vanilla clothes, makes beastraces unplayable.

That's more or less all it does.

Q: What is the difference between 'compatibility' and 'main' versions?

A:

'Compatibility' doesn't receive any updates, uses vanilla shaders and therefore requires no NPCs adaptation (like NPC replacers or new NPCs added by a mod). Lower in quality.

'Main' version receives all updates. Higher in quality. But! This verison requires adaptation, which is fairly simple:

https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Dark_Face_Bug

Both use vanilla low-poly head by default, but HighPoly Dizona Head is only compatible with 'main' version.

Q: This mod removes Khajiits and Argonians from the character creation menu. Can I play as khajiit or argonian? Can I wear armor on them?

Why beastraces aren't playable in the first place? Why is *beastrace NPC* is naked?

A:

1. You can play as a beast race. Create the beast character you want, save your game, then turn on the esp and\or esm files of Dizona Body.

2. You can't wear vanilla armor and armors made specifically for Dizona Body. You can use any other mod armors made for vanilla body.

3. Beastraces aren't playable because bodies have different templates, and if you give a Khajiit any skin showing clothes for DB (even starting rags), you'll have texture mismatch and possibly you'll encounter a bug when you couldn't unequip armor.

4. Technically, beastraces are a ton of work, so we didn't include them.

5. As for naked NPC, DB .esp gives the NPC of beastraces duplicates of the vanilla armor and clothes to avoid seams. That changes the inventory of the NPC and may possibly conflict with some mods that change those NPCs.

But! You can still safely play as female khajiit\argonian (see '1'). DB doesn't affect female characters in any way.

Q: Do I need to keep DizonaBody.esp if I use .esm-file?

A: .esp-file is not a requirement if you use DizonaBody.esm, but you may need the .esp-file if you have a lot of mods that affect vanilla armor, clothes or skins.

If so, your load order should look like this:

DizonaBody.esm (other plugins)

DizonaBody.esp <---- (!!!!) This file should be as low as possible in your loadorder (!!!!)

(Dizona Body Patches) <---- (!!!!) These files should be as low as possible in your loadorder and also lower than DizonaBody.esp (!!!!)

Although it doesn't guarantee a perfect work of everything (some mods need specific patches), this way Dizona Body will work best.

Q: Can I install other body\face replacers on top of this mod? (for example Geonox Face Maps, Fine Face Textures, etc.)

A: No. No other retexture will work for Dizona Body properly, and if you do install them, there will be seams. Every other face or body retexture requires adaptation.

Q: I've installed [DB] Vanilla Textures, but in the game my character's body doesn't look like on Dizona Body screenshots.

A: [DB] Vanilla Textures is an adaptation of Dizona Body textures for vanilla bodies. If you need a complete body replacer, install Dizona Body. Dizona Body is not just a set of textures, but a new body model with new UV template. You can, however, use both mods at the same to reduce the color difference when using vanilla-body armors & clothes.

Q: I want to use additional sliders from mods like RaceMenu\ECE\etc., but they don't work on HighPoly Head.

A: The only option that works on HighPoly Head is Sculpt from RaceMenu. If you want to use additional sliders, use vanilla head that is used in DB mod by default. DON'T USE Citrus, it is not a quality alternative to Dizona Head. It has wrong settings and lots of bugs. Even vanilla head is better.

Comparison:

Q: NPC don't open their mouth in a dialogue, how to fix it?

A: If you use 'compatibility' version, DB isn't related to your issue, since 'compatibility' doesn't have NPC files. If you use the normal version, however...

Make sure that all files in the mod are intact. Reinstall the main mod (Data folder) if you use the default head and confirm overwrite.

If you use HighPoly Head, reinstall the HighPoly Head and confirm overwrite (and make sure it's intact as well).

If NPC are from mods, then to fix that problem with HighPoly Head you will need to generate NPCs again. It's very simple:

https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Dark_Face_Bug

If you don't want to generate NPC, don't use highpoly head or use 'compatibility' version of DB.

Q: Why new shaders are necessary?

A: To put it simple, vanilla shader settings make your character shadows black and reflection white, it is the reason why default models may look plastic.

Dizona Body uses different shader settings that make shadows on your characters warm and reflections (specular) are slightly pink.

Note that this does not affect lighting conditions dramatically; if you put your character in cold blue light, there will be no warm shadows on it, but the way light hits the character will be softer and less plastic-like.

Q: Should\can I use HighPoly Head, if I use a *mod* that adds new NPC?

A: For using HighPoly Head with NPC from mods you'll need to generate those NPC again.

Tutorial (it's easy):

https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Dark_Face_Bug

If you don't want to generate NPC, don't use highpoly head or use 'compatibility' version of DB.

Q: Head and neck color on male characters is lighter than their body.

A: If you use ENB and your make characters heads and necks are lighter in color, than body, there's a solution:

Open the enblocal.ini file and make sure that "FixTintGamma=" is "false" and not "true". (Thanks to FallenMessiah for solving the problem)

Q: Character has "bronze lines"\"bronze shine".

A: SSS creates this problem. SSS should be working in game, and the best way to solve this problem is to install ENB with SSS enabled.

We don't recommend installing "fixes" like No More Ugly Bronze Shine. "Fixes" like this replace proper SSS maps with tiny black squares, disabling the SSS entirely.

Q: I use ENB, but skin of the characters looks very orange\red. What should I do?

A: Tweak your SSS settings.

In file enbseries.ini, [SUBSURFACESCATTERING] section:

Amount=0.5 <-- try to change this line. Make sure it doesn't go lower than 0.1-0.2. This can also be a lightning problem of your specific ENB.

Q: All NPCs have no facial animations and reinstallation didn't help. Facial expressions are gone even on female characters!

A: If so, it is not related to Dizona Body. Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice may help you.

Q: I've downloaded the archive. It took very long to unpack it, and\or at some point the unpacking process freezed at N%. The game doesn't load.

A: Re-download the archive and make sure your archive software is up-to-date.

Q: How to install DB compatibility patches correctly? | My game crashes after installing the Lady Body patch.

A: For any patches you will need DizonaBody.esM.

For Lady Body patch you will also need LadyBody.esM. The load order should look like this:

[official DLC and others .esm]

DizonaBody.esm

Lady Body.esm

[other plugins]

LB+DB.esp

The patch should be installed on top of LB. Ideally, the installation order should be this: LB, DB, patch. Confirm overwrites.

Q: Men don't move their teeth when talking. Facial expressions are present, but the teeth do not move.

A: Dizona Body does not affect models or textures of the teeth. Most likely you are using a teeth model replacer, such as Realistic Teeth.

Realistic Teeth specifically has a special software for you to adapt the NPCs to the new teeth model;

in other cases, you'll need to generate NPCs heads using this tutorial:

https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Dark_Face_Bug

Q: This mod is incompatible with **follower**. What can I do?

A: Depends on the companion. If the companion uses vanilla models and textures, you can make the adaptation yourself:

https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Dark_Face_Bug

If a follower has 100% its own set of models and textures, is independent of installed models and textures, you won't need an adaptation. If a follower is semi-independent as it often is, you'll need a compatibility patch.

Q: After I've installed Dizona Body my character's face looks like a mess.

A: Head morphs. You're probably using RaceMenu. If you are using a High Poly Head, unistall it if you need RaceMenu sliders.

Otherwise it may be a bug of RaceMenu itself or a vanilla face bug, depends on the way your character's face looks like. Dizona Body is not related to these issues:
